Dental Implants

Practicing a team approach to dental implant treatment, Dr. Jones consults with an oral surgeon or periodontist who performs the surgical placement of a small titanium shaft which is allowed to set. Bone grows around the shaft, forming a tight connection, and also stops the bone loss that occurs when the root of a natural tooth is missing. After the shaft implant(s) has/have healed, Dr. Jones takes over the second phase of the treatment process: the attachment of a replacement crown to the shaft or the placement of a bridge or full denture that snaps onto implants if multiple teeth are being replaced. The patient’s smile will look just like it used to and after a short period of getting used to the implants, they will feel just like the original teeth.
